The Cover Story

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of JAM in 1994, we released a commemorative 2-CD production titled "The First 20 Years". It presents the history of JAM told through interviews, radio airchecks, celebrity greetings and lots of jingles. It also includes many of the memorable highlights from our first two decades. The cover art for the CD may look random at first, but it is carefully thought out and rich in meaning if you know what you're looking at. The enlarged graphic below will take you on a tour.

The left half of the cover represents what might be found on top of our desks back "then" (the earliest days of JAM). The right half is the same desktop "now" (that being 1994). Almost everything on the left side has an updated equivalent on the right side (tapes vs. CDs, analog vs. digital, pencil vs. pen, etc.) And virtually everything pictured is referred to at some point in the audio narration on the CDs.

You can hold your mouse over any part of the graphic to see a magnified view.
